Galvanising enables the application to steel structures of an anti-corrosion coating of zinc with a silicon (Si) content of less than 0.03%, or within the range 0.15% - 0.25%.

Surface condition

The surface of the structure should be free of scale, a thick layer of rust, weld spatter, welding slag, silicone anti-splash agents, paint, grease, and oil contamination.

Suspension line

The dimensions of the structure must be less than or equal to the dimensions shown – 2.8 x 0.8 x 1.8 m (length x width x depth).

If two dimensions are close to the limit, prior consultation is required.

Maximum charge weight up to 600 kg per 1 traverse, maximum charge size up to 1200 dm2 per 1 traverse.

Drum line

Minimum charge 20kg per 1 drum

Structure properties

Suspension line

The structures should be capable of being suspended by hooks under the traverse.

The shape of the structure should allow free inflow from the technologically equipped baths to all spaces, and free outflow.

Vent holes

Structures made of closed-cross-section elements should have vent holes allowing free inflow from the technological baths during immersion, and their free outflow during the ascent of the structures at particular stages of the process.

The following table lists the sizes and numbers of vent holes in the structural components.
